Meet Carolina and Erick Diaz and their boys, Darbo and Luca.
We have known this family for years, so this one sits a little closer to the heart than most.
Caro and Erick are Architects who built something of their own with Orange Made Architects, and you feel it the second they walk in — the way they see design, the way they reach for color instead of hiding from it, the way they turn a session into the best kind of chaos.
Not one person in this family is afraid of a camera. Caro has a laugh you hear before you see it — and you will forever remember it — and Erick has a smile that does half my job for me.
Luca is the quiet old soul taking everything in, and Darbo is thirteen in the best possible way— all hair and opinions and video games, and also one of my youngest's favorite people on the planet.
They bid on this session at the Boys and Girls Club Annual Fundraiser Gala, which honestly tells you everything.
These are people who show up for their community, their kids, their business, their family, their friends, for each other, for the things worth showing up for. They know that family is the whole point.
Saying I had so much fun with the four of them is a huge understatement. I cried when I was reviewing a slideshow I made for them. Both sets of grandparents came too and it was all pure joy and magic.
This is what it looks like when a family genuinely likes each other. Everyone wants that.
