When Lidza got engaged, I reached out with a question: "Have you ever thought about doing a boudoir session as a wedding gift?"
She loved the idea.
What started as a surprise for her husband-to-be, Eric, turned into something so much bigger than either of us planned.
A Story Bigger Than One Session
I've known Lidza for years, and watching her journey has been incredible. She's lost well over 150 pounds, but that number is only a small part of the story. She has completely changed her life.
Today she helps other women get stronger, healthier, and more confident every single day. She lifts weights (she can probably lift a car), trains in Jiu Jitsu, loves to cook, and is always teaching people that nourishing your body matters, that being strong matters, that lowering your biological age matters. Somewhere along the way, she also found the love of her life, a man who adores both her and her daughter. They were married just a couple of weeks ago.
So when she stepped in front of my camera, she brought all of that with her.
Boudoir Doesn't Create Confidence. It Reveals It.
People often say boudoir is empowering. I don't think that's entirely true.
The session itself doesn't hand you confidence. It reveals the confidence that's already there, even when you can't see it yet. My job is simply to show you what everyone around you already sees.
For Lidza, that confidence didn't come from an afternoon in the studio. It came from every workout she didn't skip. Every healthy choice she made. Every single time she decided not to quit. The camera just gave it a place to show up.
A Gift That Keeps Giving Back
These photographs are a beautiful gift for her husband. But I have a feeling they'll mean even more to Lidza over the years.
They'll remind her of this season of her life. Of everything she fought for. Of the woman she became. Of the moment when loving herself ended up attracting the love of her life.
Maybe It's Your Turn to Celebrate
If you've been putting in the work, this is for you. Whether you've lost 20 pounds or 100, had a baby, beaten an illness, turned 50, or simply started seeing yourself differently, maybe it's time to celebrate that.
Not because you need permission. Because you earned it.
Boudoir sessions at my McAllen studio are built around exactly this: real women, real stories, and photographs that show you who you already are. Hair and makeup are handled by a professional artist so all you have to do is show up.
If you're ready to see yourself the way the rest of us do, let's start with a simple conversation.
